Uses of ALNAMET-VG
- A combination of Metformin and Vildagliptin in one tablet.
- Type 2 diabetes
- Polycystic ovary syndrome (as prescribed)

How it works of ALNAMET-VG
- Metformin is a biguanide. It lowers blood sugar by reducing glucose made by the liver and improving insulin sensitivity.
- Vildagliptin is a DPP-4 inhibitor. It increases the body’s own incretin hormones, which raise insulin and lower glucagon after meals.
Dosage of ALNAMET-VG
- Take as prescribed by the doctor, usually with a glass of water.
- Follow the dose, timing and duration on the prescription — do not stop early or take extra doses.
- If a dose is missed, take it when remembered unless the next dose is due; do not double up.
Side effects of ALNAMET-VG
- Nausea, diarrhoea or stomach upset
- Metallic taste
- Low vitamin B12 with long use
- Low blood sugar (sweating, shakiness, hunger)
- Stomach upset
- Seek medical help at once for signs of a severe allergic reaction, such as swelling of the face or difficulty breathing
Precautions of ALNAMET-VG
- Take with or after food
- Tell the doctor about kidney problems and before scans with contrast dye
- Avoid excess alcohol
- Monitor blood sugar regularly
- Do not skip meals
- Tell the doctor about kidney or liver disease
- Use only on the advice of a registered medical practitioner; tell the doctor if you are pregnant, breastfeeding or taking other medicines
Storage of ALNAMET-VG
Store as printed on the pack, generally in a cool, dry place below 30°C, protected from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
