- A combination of Cefuroxime and Sulbactam in one injection.

How it works of EDRUCEF-S 2.25
- Cefuroxime is a cephalosporin antibiotic. It kills bacteria by stopping them from building their cell wall.
- Sulbactam is a beta-lactamase inhibitor. It blocks the beta-lactamase enzymes some bacteria use to destroy antibiotics, so the partner antibiotic keeps working.
Dosage of EDRUCEF-S 2.25
Given only by a doctor or nurse, by injection or infusion, at the dose and schedule decided by the treating physician. Reconstitute and dilute as described in the pack insert.
Side effects of EDRUCEF-S 2.25
- Diarrhoea, nausea or stomach upset
- Skin rash or itching
- Pain or swelling at the injection site (injections)
- Diarrhoea
- Nausea
- Seek medical help at once for signs of a severe allergic reaction, such as swelling of the face or difficulty breathing
Precautions of EDRUCEF-S 2.25
- Tell the doctor about any allergy to penicillins or cephalosporins
- Complete the full course even if you feel better
- Dose may need adjusting in kidney disease
- Not to be used if allergic to beta-lactam antibiotics
- Use only on the advice of a registered medical practitioner; tell the doctor if you are pregnant, breastfeeding or taking other medicines
Storage of EDRUCEF-S 2.25
Store as printed on the pack, generally below 25°C in the original carton, protected from light. Use reconstituted or diluted solution as directed in the pack insert.
