Uses of PAPCEF-O
- A combination of Cefpodoxime and Ofloxacin in one tablet.
- Respiratory tract infections such as pharyngitis, sinusitis and bronchitis
- Urinary tract and skin infections
- Urinary tract, respiratory and skin infections
- Diarrhoea caused by bacteria
- Some sexually transmitted infections

How it works of PAPCEF-O
- Cefpodoxime is a cephalosporin antibiotic. It kills bacteria by stopping them from building their cell wall.
- Ofloxacin is a fluoroquinolone antibiotic. It kills bacteria by blocking the enzymes they need to copy their DNA.
Dosage of PAPCEF-O
- Take as prescribed by the doctor, usually with a glass of water.
- Follow the dose, timing and duration on the prescription — do not stop early or take extra doses.
- If a dose is missed, take it when remembered unless the next dose is due; do not double up.
Side effects of PAPCEF-O
- Diarrhoea, nausea or stomach upset
- Skin rash or itching
- Pain or swelling at the injection site (injections)
- Nausea or diarrhoea
- Headache or dizziness
- Trouble sleeping
- Seek medical help at once for signs of a severe allergic reaction, such as swelling of the face or difficulty breathing
Precautions of PAPCEF-O
- Tell the doctor about any allergy to penicillins or cephalosporins
- Complete the full course even if you feel better
- Dose may need adjusting in kidney disease
- Stop and see the doctor if tendon pain or swelling occurs
- Avoid strong sunlight during treatment
- Not usually given to children or in pregnancy
- Use only on the advice of a registered medical practitioner; tell the doctor if you are pregnant, breastfeeding or taking other medicines
Storage of PAPCEF-O
Store as printed on the pack, generally in a cool, dry place below 30°C, protected from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
