How it works of PROVO-MS
- Ofloxacin is a fluoroquinolone antibiotic. It kills bacteria by blocking the enzymes they need to copy their DNA.
- Metronidazole is a nitroimidazole anti-infective. It kills anaerobic bacteria and protozoa by damaging their DNA.
- Simethicone is an anti-flatulent. It breaks up gas bubbles in the gut so gas passes more easily.
Dosage of PROVO-MS
- Measure each dose with the cup, spoon or dropper provided — never a household spoon.
- Shake well before use if it is a suspension.
- The dose is decided by the doctor, often based on age or body weight; follow the prescription and the label.
Side effects of PROVO-MS
- Nausea or diarrhoea
- Headache or dizziness
- Trouble sleeping
- Metallic taste
- Nausea or loss of appetite
- Constipation or loose stools
- Seek medical help at once for signs of a severe allergic reaction, such as swelling of the face or difficulty breathing
Precautions of PROVO-MS
- Stop and see the doctor if tendon pain or swelling occurs
- Avoid strong sunlight during treatment
- Not usually given to children or in pregnancy
- Take apart from antacids, iron or calcium
- Avoid alcohol during treatment and for a few days after
- Tell the doctor about pregnancy or nerve problems
- Use only on the advice of a registered medical practitioner; tell the doctor if you are pregnant, breastfeeding or taking other medicines
Storage of PROVO-MS
Store as printed on the pack, generally in a cool, dry place below 30°C, protected from light. Keep the bottle tightly closed; once a dry syrup is mixed, use within the period stated on the pack.
